Donald E. “Vinnie” Dombeck Allegany, NY Donald E. “Vinnie” Dombeck of Allegany passed away peacefully on Monday (December 5, 2022) after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Born January 6, 1954 in Olean, he was the son of John and Veronica Brol Dombeck. Vinnie attended Olean High School and St. Bonaventure University. He later worked for 35 years for National Grid. Vinnie was a simple man who loved the outdoors, food, and family. His love of cooking, grilling, and entertaining, along with his infectious smile and hearty laugh, will always be remembered. He is survived by his wife Cari, and children Jacob (Emily Giardini) Dombeck, Nicholas (Haley Dwyer) Cottone, Joseph (Angela) Cottone, and Jessica Cottone; 5 beautiful grandchildren; 1 sister Barbara (Mitch) Rakus; 1 sister-in-law Carol Dombeck, and a handful of nieces and nephews. Vinnie is also survived by many friends and his “Hollow” family. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as by his first wife Donna Brink Dombeck, and 2 brothers Jim Dombeck and Bob Dombeck. Family and friends whose lives Vinnie touched are welcome to Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean on Friday from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be held Saturday (December 10, 2022) at 11am in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Michael Reyes, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. A private burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
