R. Dennis Casey

Dennis is a third generation native of Olean whose father was an MD and whose grandfather was owner of the former Casey Music Store, both in Olean. After graduation from Cuba, NY High School he graduated from Ithaca College with a BA in English Literature. He later graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and in 1978 along with his brother-in-law Robert T. Johnson, purchased the E. C. Hogan Funeral Home, Inc. of Olean and Allegany. In 1988 he became sole owner of the business, renaming it R. Dennis Casey Funeral Home. It was in 1999 that the locations in Olean and Allegany were consolidated into one new facility at its present location. Dennis is married, lives in Allegany and has five children. He enjoys his membership in the Rotary Club of Olean, the Knights of Columbus in Allegany as well as the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, several other local fraternal organizations as well as professional associations in the funeral business.


Kenneth M. Hartle

Ken is a Bradford, Pennsylvania native graduating from Bradford Area High School. His employment in Pennsylvania includes assisting the Cahill Funeral Home and later the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes in Bradford, PA. In 1988 he began work at the Halwig Funeral Home in Olean while attending Simmons Institute of Funeral Service in Syracuse, NY. He is a 1989 graduate of Simmons Institute. He served his residency and received his New York State license while at Halwig Funeral Home. In 1991 Ken accepted a position at Kehl's Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Anchorage, Alaska. He was promoted to assistant manager in 1993 at Witzleben Family Funeral Homes and Crematory in Anchorage, AK. In 1994 he was hired as a Medical Examiner Assistant at the Alaska State Forensic Crime Lab, Medical Examiner's Office. He returned to Halwig Funeral Home in Olean, NY in 1995 and purchased the business in 1998. Ken lives in Topeka, KS and manages and operates the company's other businesses, Linnwood Park Nursing Homes in Topeka with Supervised Nursing Care Facilities in Valley Falls, KS and in Meriden, KS.
