As a strong family all of you were there for Tom through all his trials of fighting to stay with you. You know that he loved all of you and would have done anything for each as he was able, but GOD had his plans too and because we believe there is an eternity after death you have the assurance that sometime you will be reunited with him again. It is hardest for those of us who are left to understand why at such a young age he has died. My dad was only 66 when he died and yet Jerry's dad was 86. So we need to love each other every day we are blessed to have the in our lives. Know that we are thinking of all of you and praying GOD's blessing during this sad time.

My deepest sympathies to Phyllis, Tom, Jr. Tim, Sean and Kaitlyn, Linda, Fred, and to all of us who knew Tom and are mourning him. He was a terrific person, business man, friend and anyone who knew him always left him with a smile, and I know I always did. He was a successful man both personally and professionally, but anyone who knew him knew that his greatest pride was his family. When he would talk about them he had a twinkle in his eye. Tom, Jr., Tim, Sean, Katie, each one of you were his pride and joy. He was so very proud of each of you. We all feel emptiness and will miss Tom very much. I was blessed to have known Tom and to have considered him my friend. He will always have a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with the Conklin family as they begin the grieving process. Know that so many are mourning with you and are thinking of you during this difficult time.

We are devastated by Tom's loss. Although having talked and emailed frequently, we had hoped to visit with an old friend this summer. We have many great memories of time spent with the Conklins during our years in Olean and vacationing in later years. We know he will be greatly missed by not only Phyl and his family, but also by his many friends. May God rest his soul in peace.

To Tom's family: This is a great picture of Tom. He has the usual smile I saw on face whenever I ran into him at KOA. My mother, Sandy Remington, worked for Tom for years. I also work at KOA but not directly with Tom. However, he was always very nice to me whenever I saw him. He will truly be missed and I cannot be sorrier for your tremendous and untimely loss.

I was so saddened to hear of Tommy's passing. He and I grew up together on the "Avenues" in Olean and attended School 5 and all the rest as we aged. He never changed. Always quick of wit and smiling ear to ear. Even at our 40th reunion we fell back in step as we always had whenever we got together. I will miss my old friend. I didn't even hold against him his Notre Dame affliction! I wish you comfort in the days ahead as you reflect on his life and times. Sincerely, Mark Perry
