Obituary of Richard Chambers

Olean-- Richard A. Chambers of 110 North 12th Street, passed away Thursday (January 21, 2010) at the Olean General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born August 22, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of William and Dorothy Mostert Chambers. On October 22, 1966 in the former Showers United Methodist Church in Olean, he married Doris Anderson, who survives.
Mr. Chambers was enlisted in the United States Army from 1965-1967 serving during the Vietnam War. He had currently been employed for Boehmer Transportation in Machias.
Surviving besides his wife, is his mom of Sherman, NY; 3 children Richard Chambers Jr., of Buffalo, Mary (Burke) Smith of Shinglehouse, PA, Dennis Chambers of Largo, FL; 3 grandchildren Dylan, Zachary and Mandi Smith of Shinglehouse; 2 sisters Julie Chambers of Ohio, Annie (Tom) Smith of Sherman, NY; 1 brother Billy Chambers of Sherman, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his dad and 2 brothers John Chambers and Edward Chambers.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-3 and 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday (January 25, 2010) at 1pm at the funeral home. Rev. Robert Goode, Chaplin of the Olean General Hospital will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
