Edwin J. Pikulski "Loving husband, father, grandfather"
Olean, NY-Edwin J. Pikulski of 1869 W. Franklin St. passed away Wednesday (October 14, 2009) in his home while under the loving care of his family.
Born August 19, 1934 in Olean, NY he was the son of Joseph "Pike" and Genevieve "Jane" Bugno Pikulski. On October 7, 1961 at St. John the Baptist Church in Green Bay, WI he married Kathleen M. Tilque who survives.
Mr. Pikulski was a graduate of Olean High School and later received his Masters in Business Administration degree from St. Bonaventure University.
He began employment with Clark Brothers Co. in Olean at the age of 17 and worked from 1951 until 2005 having retired to a part time position with Dresser Rand as a Source Inspector.
He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, the Allegany Knights of Columbus Council #1220 and the Sixty Plus Club of Allegany. He was also a life member of the Pulaski Club of Olean and was a past member of the National Leadership Association. He was a stained glass enthusiast, enjoyed golfing and traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife are his mother of Olean; 4 sons Daniel (Cindy) Pikulski of Allegany, Paul (Amy) Pikulski of New Paltz, NY, Christopher (Julie) Pikulski of Olean and Mark (Amy) Pikulski of Oldsmar, FL; 8 grandchildren Stephanie Pikulski, Austin Pikulski, Jennifer Harmon, D. J. Gonska, Stephan Gonska, Amanda Pikulski, Nathaniel Himes and Noah Pikulski; 2 brothers Raymond (Paula) Pikulski of Sarasota, FL and Joseph (Meredith) Pikulski of Westlake Village, CA; 1 sister Barbara (Charles) MacRoy of Sarasota, FL; 1 aunt Helen Brokaw of Olean and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father and a granddaughter Emily Pikulski.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday (October 17, 2009) beginning with a prayer service at 10:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Richard Husted, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
