Obituary of Eileen Marie Choiunard

Eileen Marie Chouinard “Teacher at heart, Mother at will” Allegany, NY—Eileen Marie Chouinard of 4260 Kaiser Rd. died Thursday (January 31, 2008) in the Olean General Hospital. Born October 26, 1953 in Coudersport, PA she was the daughter of Richard and Georgia Sherwin Gleason. On October 25, 1969 in Allegany, NY she married Roy L. Chouinard who survives. Mrs. Chouinard went to school in Austin, PA and later graduated from the Continental School of Beauty in Olean. She worked for fifteen years as a manicurist in the Allegany area and she also was a teacher for seven years at the Continental School of Beauty. She also spent many years working as an office secretary at her husband’s business, DJN Auto Body in Allegany. She received much joy and satisfaction from teaching and often voiced her love for her students. Surviving besides her husband are 3 sons John (Susan) Chouinard, Jeff Chouinard and Scott (Danielle) Chouinard, all of Allegany; 1 granddaughter Kaitlyn Chouinard; 4 sisters and 1 brother Carol (Wade) Mathias of West Clarksville, Patricia Gleason of Portville, Richard (Cheryl) Gleason of Allegany, Nancy Smith of Arizona and Susan (Lee) Johnson of Allegany and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (February 5, 2008) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Kristen Allen, co-pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Olean, will officiate.
