WILLIAM HALLADAY OLEAN - William Halladay of North 11th Street died peacefully in his sleep at his residence on Friday November 15, 2002 after a hard battle with cancer. Born in Olean on February 10, 1962 he was a son of William Nicholas and Betty Jean Halladay. He attended and graduated from Olean High School, Class of 1980. Mr. Halladay was employed at Olean Finishing Machines, D & C Cleaning and most recently was employed at St. Mary of the Angels Church and Southern Tier Catholic School from 1988 through 2001. He enjoyed fishing. He will be remembered as a hard worker and provider for his family. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children. In addition to his mother of Olean he is survived by his companion Amy Newcome, daughters Amanda Newcome, Dana Halladay and Lindsay Halladay all of Olean; brother Thad (Amy) Halladay of Allegany; step-brothers Mike Robbins of Florida and Howard (Jane) Robbins of Rhode Island; step-sisters Evelyn Bizzaro of Florida, Aleta (Chester) Whitney of Portville and Anita (Norman) Puff of Lockport, NY; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Tuesday November 19, 2002 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at which time funeral services will be conducted. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean. Memorials may be made to the American Leukemia Society.
