Obituary of Margaret Attwell

MARGARET M. ATTWELL "Loving Wife Mother & Grandmother" PORTVILLE - Margaret M. Attwell of Portville-Eldred Rd. died Monday May 6, 2002 at the Olean General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born on June 14, 1921 in Olean she was a daughter of Stephen and Mary Evans Sakala. She married Milton R. Atwell who predeceased her December 9, 1984. She attended Olean Schools and was formerly employed at K-Bar Cutlery. She was a resident of Portville for many years. Mrs. Attwell was a member of the National Slovak Society and enjoyed gardening, cooking and homemaking. She is survived by five children including twin daughter and son, David Attwell and Tami Attwell, both of Portville; daughters, Margaret (Stephen) Curtis of La Palma, CA, Joan Attwell of Long Beach, CA, and Carol (Ernest) Meiries of Boonville, AR. One Granddaughter, Amanda Attwell, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by four sisters; Mary Fie, Anna Sakala, Rose Ozogar and Leona Sakala. Friends will be received on Wednesday (May 8, 2002) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday May 9, 2002 at 11:00 AM. Brother Brian Hart, OFM will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.
