Marguerite E. "Pat" Witter Olean—Marguerite E. “Pat” Witter, of 2833 Back Hinsdale Road, passed away Tuesday (April 15, 2008) at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo after a brief illness. Born July 6, 1929 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of Harley and Helen Haze Moden. She was married to William Baker, who predeceased her in 1974. Later, on September 25, 1976, in Hinsdale, she married Richard Witter, who survives. Mrs. Witter was a graduate of Orchard Park High School and was employed by the former Hinsdale Hotel. She was a member of the VFW Post #3434 in Okeechobee, Florida, the Hinsdale American Legion Norton Chambers Post # 1434, a life member of the Hinsdale Fire Department, a life member of St. Stephens Club and a member of St. John’s Church in Olean. Surviving are 9 children William (Barbara) Baker of Colden, NY, Deborah Koch of Washington D.C., Mary Beth Baker of Springville, James (Debra) Baker of Orchard Park, Patsy (Mark) Peterson of Springville, Michael Baker of Olean, Margaret Kent of Hinsdale, Katherine Weise of Glenwood, NY, Anthony (Patrice) Baker of Kensington, VT; 5 step-children Donald (April) Witter of Ely NV, Ronald (Stacy) Witter of Kingsley IA, Darla (John) Rosendu of Kiron IA, Carol (Roy) Mitchell of Mountain Home, ID, Vicky Witter of Council Bluffs, IA; 1 sister Barbara (Chuck) !McNalley of Suffern, NY; 2 brothers Charles Moden formerly of East Aurora, NY, Ralph (Kim) Moden of Burke, VA; 23 grandchildren William and Jordan Baker of Colden, NY, Michael and Christopher Koch of Washington DC, Jarrett, Hillary, John, Heather, James, Elizabeth Baker of Springville, Nicole, Peter, Thomas, Jamie Baker of Orchard Park, David, Lisa, Katie Peterson of Springville, Cassie and Jarrett Kent of Hinsdale, Andrew Kloss of Glenwood, Anthony, Haley, William Baker of Kensington VT; numerous great-grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-laws Charles (Rose) Witter of Portville, Ray (Janet) Witter of Wellsville; 3 sisters-in-laws Naomi !MacNeal of Olean, Gloria Bright of Olean and Geraldine Witter of Allegany and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband, she was predeceased by 1 grandson Joseph Baker; 1 sister-in-law Donna Gray and 4 brothers-in-laws !LeRoy Witter Jr., Donald Witter, Daniel Witter and Robert Witter. Friends will be received at Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Friday (April 18, 2008) beginning with a prayer service at 10:30 am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 11am in St. John’s Church in Olean. Msgr. William Wangler, Pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, in Armor NY. Memorials if desired can be made to St. John’s Church 931 N. Union St. Olean NY.
