Obituary of Beverly Ann DiSorbo Cross

Beverly Ann !DiSorbo Cross Hampstead, NC--Beverly Ann !DiSorbo Cross of 106 Marshcreek Dr., died Tuesday (June 17, 2008) in her home from complications due to Alzheimer's Disease. Born November 14, 1934, she was the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Geoghegan) !DiSorbo. On June 20, 1959 at St. John's Church in Olean, she married Robert T. Cross who survives. Beverly graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1956 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Her analytical skills were a perfect match for the fledgling computer industry of the mid-1960s. Her career in computer programming, begun at Univac and AT&T, would last over 20 years, broadening into systems analysis and project management roles. In 1989 she moved with Robert to North Carolina for an active retirement including a second career in Real Estate. Beverly was a bright, hardworking, accomplished woman who loved her family very much. Surviving besides her husband are 2 children Richard Cross of Fort Lawn, SC and Elizabeth (Douglas) Cross-Smith of Sheffield Lake, OH; 4 grandchildren, 3 brothers Joseph (Jeanne) !DiSorbo of Olean, Louis (Rose Marie) !DiSorbo of Cuba, and James (Mary Jane) !DiSorbo of Austin TX; 2 sisters Barbara (Keith) Harden of Jupiter, FL, and Julie (John) Irving of Olean; and several nieces and nephews to whom she wall always be "Beautiful Aunt Beverly." Friends may call at Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 NYS Rte 417 West, Olean, NY on Sunday June 22, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Monday June 23rd there will be a Prayer Service at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. John’s Church. Internment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery immediately after the mass. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Katherine Geoghegan !DiSorbo Memorial Scholarship Fund through the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, PA or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alznc.org.)
