DeMaris E. Lynch “Beloved wife and mother” Olean, NY—!DeMaris E. Lynch of 106 N. 17th St. died Tuesday (August 12, 2008) in the Olean General Hospital after a short illness. Born September 23, 1928 in Olean she was the daughter of Seldon J. and Rosa M. Ford Root. On July 29, 1972 in Portville, NY she married Michael J. Lynch who survives. Mrs. Lynch was a graduate of Olean High School and was a lifelong resident of Olean. She had been employed as a secretary at the former St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing for 27 years, retiring in 1993. She loved to travel the country visiting family and friends. She spent many happy hours with her beloved animals, especially her black cat Curly Joe. She truly enjoyed the four seasons at her country home in West Clarksville, NY. Surviving besides her husband are 3 sons Michael (Phyllis) Eaton, Christopher (Tina) Eaton and Kevin (Carla) Eaton; 2 daughters Jennifer (John) Hart and Lindsey (Bryan) Dodson; 7 grandchildren Sarah Hargreaves, Jessica Mansfield, Kevin Paul Eaton, Christina Eaton, George Karpin, Andrew Karpin and Bella Webster. She was predeceased by her first husband Basil L. Eaton; 2 brothers Donald Root and Harold Root; and a sister Margaret "Peg" Root. Friends are invited to attend a remembrance service on Tuesday (August 19, 2008) at 11:00am in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA 2944 Olean Hinsdale Rd. Olean, NY 14760.
