Millicent M. Kwiatkowski “Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother” Olean, NY—Millicent M. Kwiatkowski of 304 E. Pine St. died suddenly Sunday (August 24, 2008) in the Olean General Hospital. Born April 21, 1928 in Olean she was the daughter of Floyd J. and Catherine Shalkowski Ambroselli. On June 26, 1948 at St. John’s Church in Olean she married Edward F. Kwiatkowski who predeceased her January 27, 2001. Mrs. Kwiatkowski was a graduate of Olean High School and had worked as a lab technician at the former St. Francis Hospital. She later worked for the Olean City School District prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. John’s Church and its Altar and Rosary Society and was a member of the Pulaski Club Auxiliary. She was a loving mother and the center of her life was in raising seven children. She also enjoyed fishing and bowling. Surviving are 4 sons James (Mary) Kwiatkowski of Churchville, Robert Kwiatkowski of Olean, Thomas (Cindy) Kwiatkowski of Rochester and Joseph (Debbie) Kwiatkowski of Olean; 3 daughters Diane (John) Eberle of Portville, Sandra (Ken Taylor) Swinko of Smethport and Kimberly (Larry) Dupere of Portville; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 sister Mary Ann Hettrick of Olean, several nieces and nephews and a close companion George Cowles of Olean. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 1 brother Samuel Ambroselli. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (August 27, 2008) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. John’s Church. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY 2805 Wehrle Dr., Ste 6, Williamsville, NY 14221 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
