Obituary of Arleen Rachel Gray

Arleen Rachel (Clayson) Gray “Loving Mom and Nana” Olean—Arleen Rachel (Clayson) Gray, of Olean, passed away Sunday (September 14, 2008) in Vinton Louisiana, from injuries sustained while driving her tractor trailer. Born August 21, 1955 in Olean NY, she was the daughter of Douglas and Shirley Hall Clayson. In 1973, she graduated from Allegany Central School. She had been previously employed by the Red Barn, Olean Tile Plant, Alle-Catt Taxi and the Cattaraugus County Nursing Home. She then started a career as a cross country tractor trailer driver and had most recently been employed by New Prime Inc., a trucking company located in Springfield MO. She loved her grandchildren and was affectionately known by her friends and family as “Truck Driver Nana.” Surviving are a daughter Rachel A. Harvey of Binghamton, NY; a son Herman Kent III, of Arkansas; 2 grandchildren Ivan Lamont Harvey and Gabryel Kent Harvey of Binghamton, NY; 4 siblings Douglas (Lynnette) Clayson of Cuba, Shelly (Jeffrey) Fye of Hinsdale, Sheila Clayson of Olean, John (Beth) Clayson of Allegany; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and a grandson Santana Gomez who died in 2006. A memorial visitation will be held at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road on Wednesday (September 24, 2008) from 4-6:30pm. A service will follow at 6:30pm. Rev. Ronald Reichman, Chaplain at the Olean General Hospital, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
