Obituary of Ernestine R. McPeak

Ernestine R. !McPeak Olean—Ernestine R. !McPeak of 1005 ½ W. Sullivan Street, passed away Friday (December 12, 2008) at the Olean General Hospital. Born June 11, 1938 in Olean, she was the daughter of William T. and Lillie Norris Malone. She was a graduate of Elkland High School in PA. Ms. !McPeak was employed by Cooper Power Systems in Olean for many years. She was a member of the African Methodist Episcopalian Church. She enjoyed drawing, dancing, singing and story telling. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving is her mom of Elmira, NY; 5 children Kathy (Anthony) Roland of Buffalo, Edwin T. !McPeak of Houston, TX, Stephen (Librada) !McPeak of Olean, Tresea (Derek) Ellis of Troy, MI, Bruce (Gillian) Gayton of Olean; 2 brothers George Malone and Robert Malone, both of Elmira, NY; a sister Esther Malone of Elmira, NY; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a special friend Mary Reeves; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her dad; long time companion Arthur Gayton and a close Aunt Cora Peterson. Friends will be received at Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday (December 15, 2008) at 10am at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean. Memorials if desired can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Dr. Suite 102, Amherst, NY 14226.
