Rita C. !McGonigle
Bradford, PA—Rita C. !McGonigle, a resident of the Bradford Manor for the past four years died unexpectedly Thursday (January 4, 2007).
Born June 5, 1917 in Hoguetown, PA she was the daughter of Alfred and Claire !McGuire Hines. She was married to Charles A. !McGonigle who predeceased her January 3, 1969.
Mrs. !McGonigle was a graduate of Cresson Joint High School in Cresson, PA and resided there most of her life. She was employed by the State of Pennsylvania as a caregiver for the mentally handicapped. She was a former parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church and also St. Aloysius Church. She was active with the Catholic Daughters of America and the Ladies Society of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen. She moved to Alaska in 2000 and lived there for two years prior to moving to Bradford.
Surviving are one son Richard (Lillian) !McGonigle of Olean; 1 daughter Virginia (Sam) Wilt of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren Ron !McGonigle, Robert (Mary) !McGonigle, Christopher !McGonigle, Sean !McGonigle, Lillian (Frank) Homer, Tanya (Ahmad) Barney, Michelle Kohler, and Jeffery Wilt; great grandchildren Ron !McGonigle, Amanda !McGonigle, Chris !McGonigle, Chelsea !McGonigle, Malik Burney, Jamel Barney, Jeff Barney, Kelly Kohler, Johnny Kohler, Daniel Wilt, Samuel Wilt; one great great grandson Brandon and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by one son Fred !McGonigle; 4 brothers Algernon Hines, Alfred Hines, Sylvester Hines, Lambert Hines and 4 sisters Ethel Rogers, Mildred Hines, Helen Hines and Cathleen Benden.
A private visitation will be held at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home in Olean, NY. Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass to be celebrated Thursday (January 11, 2007) in St. Aloysius Church in Cresson at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Church or to St. Aloysius Church.
