Hamburg, NY—Lori I. Nordlund of 4591 Southwestern Blvd, Mapleleaf Apartments died Thursday (February 1, 2007) in her home after a brief illness.
Born February 28, 1953 in Lockport, NY she was the daughter of Bernard and Doris Grohs Nevison.
Ms. Nordlund was a graduate of Hinsdale Central School and of Olean Business Institute. She had also completed many American Institute of Banking courses of study and later was an instructor for several classes.
She had worked as a banker all of her life having first been employed by the former Citizens National Bank and Trust Co., later Key Bank in Olean where she began in 1972 as a teller and was promoted to Vice President of Commercial Loans. She worked from 1994 to 1999 for PNC Bank in Warren, PA and Bradford, PA and then for the former First Tier Bank in Ellicottville as branch manager until 2002. From 2002 until 2004 she worked as a vice president for the Wyoming County Bank in Arcade which was a sister bank of First Tier Bank. From 2004 until August of 2006 she was the commercial lending officer for Five Star Bank in the Salamanca and Ellicottville markets. In August 2006, in her desire to be closer to family members, she moved to Hamburg and accepted the position of Vice President and Business Relationship Manager for HSBC Bank in Springville and Attica.
Ms. Nordlund enjoyed helping others in her community wherever she lived. She was active with various Chambers of Commerce, Exchange Clubs and the Kiwanis Club. Along with her daughter she had been an active volunteer for the Warren County Humane Society. She was very proud of her banking career and was a devoted mother, daughter and sister.
Surviving besides her parents of N. Tonawanda are 1 son Sean Nordlund of N. Tonawanda; 1 daughter Kristen Nordlund of N. Tonawanda; 1 brother William Nevison of Holly, MI; 2 nieces Heidi Nevison and Renee Nevison and 1 nephew Keith Nevison.
She was predeceased by an infant brother Robert Nevison.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3218 W. State St. Olean on Saturday (February 3, 2007) from 1-3 and 5-7pm. Funeral services will follow at 7pm in the funeral home. Rev. Derek Cheek, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Olean, will officiate.
