Obituary of Douglas A. Barth

Douglas A. Barth Allegany NY,— Douglas A. Barth of 3978 Chapel Hill Road, Allegany passed away Friday February 2, 2007 at the Olean General Hospital. Born December 22, 1934 he was the son of Frank J. and Flora Harms Barth. On July 2, 1960 in St. John’s Church in Olean, he married Audrey M. Main who survives. Mr. Barth was a graduate of Olean High School. He first resided in Olean and then moved to Chautauqua County where he resided for 18 years. He has resided in Allegany since 1982. He was first employed for the former Daystrom Furniture Co. and then he worked for several years at Brinks Typewriter Service and retired 10 years ago from American Locker (Signore) as an engineer after 32 years of employment. Mr. Barth was a former member of the Eagle’s Club. He enjoyed animals, carpentry and working around the house. Surviving besides his wife are four children, Cathleen (John) Kearns of Texas, Brian Barth of Salamanca, Theresa (Robert) Wiabel of Kansas City, MO, Lisa (David) Springstead of Olean; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by 1 son Steven Barth in 1981 and 6 brothers William Barth, George Barth, Walter Barth, Donald Barth, Robert Barth and Karl Barth. Friends will be received at Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State St. Olean from 2-4, 7-9 on Sunday. Funeral services will be held Monday February 5, 2007, at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
