Obituary of Shirley A. Showers

Shirley A. Showers Hinsdale- Shirley A. Showers passed away Tuesday February 6, 2007 at the Underwood Manor were she had resided for the past four years. Born April 20, 1933 in Olean she was the daughter of Franklin and Pearl Mae Frederick Shoup. She attended Olean High School, and was employed as a housekeeper and then later employed by the former Castle Restaurant. She attended Guidepost Treatment Center in Olean and enjoyed her friends at the Underwood Manor. Shirley was a kindhearted woman, who liked to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also liked crocheting as well as playing Bingo. Ms. Showers is survived by her four daughters Joan (Richard) Stanton of Olean, Doris (Boyd) Dowell of Mt. Jewitt, PA, Linda Showers of Olean, Sylvia Poweska of Hinsdale; four sons, Eddie Showers of PA, Michael Johnson of Salamanca, Frank !VanCamp of Salamanca, David Showers of Hinsdale; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road on Friday February 9, 2007 from 12:00pm until 1:30 pm at which time funeral services will be held. Reverend Richard Kester will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
