JACK SHAFFER
ALLEGANY - Jack Shaffer of Buffalo Road died Monday July 22, 2002 at his residence. Born July 9, 1917 in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of Carl and Sarah Batheror Shaffer.
Jack had been a resident of the New York City area for many years and was employed at Sam's Grocery Store. He moved to this area fifteen years ago and had attended the Life Skills program at the Rehablititation Center prior to his retirement.
He is survived by one sister Sonia (Sid) Alpert of San Diego CA, three nephews, Harvey, Jordan and Irvin and one niece, Judy. He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends will be received on Thursday July 25, 2002 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at which time funeral services will be conducted. Brother Anthony Logalbo will officiate. Burial and committal services will be conducted on Friday July 26, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Mentifiore Cemetery, St. Albans, NY.
Memorials may be made to the Rehabilitation Center or to Homecare and Hospice.
