Obituary of Arlene M. James

Arlene James “loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother” Olean—Arlene M. James recently of the Gowanda Nursing home and formerly of 705 Maple St, Olean passed away Saturday July 14, 2007 at the Tri- County Memorial Hospital in Gowanda. Born October 22, 1928 in Olean, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Marion Kramer Stevens. On October 22, 1947 she married Albert James who survives. Mrs. James was a graduate of Olean High School. She was a devoted Christian and a homemaker who loved her family. She also enjoyed knitting and had made many afghans. Surviving besides her husband is a daughter Ruth James of Olean; 2 sons David (Lisa) James of Salamanca, and Paul James of Lackawanna; 4 grandchildren Courtney and Matthew James of Salamanca, Thomas Tascone of Franklinville and Joseph Tascone of Wellsville; a sister Lorraine (Eddie) Llewellyn of Olean; a sister-in-law Leona Fye of Olean; 11 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a dear life long friend Catherine Melaro of Olean. She was predeceased by a brother Richard Stevens. Friends will be received at Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road, Olean, on Tuesday (July 17, 2007) from 1:00pm until time of services at 4:00pm. Each of her three children will officiate. A Private burial service will be held at the Allegany Cemetery. Memorials if desired can be made to American Heart Association PO Box 3049 Syracuse, NY 13220 or to Alzheimer’s Association Wehrle Dr. Suite 6 Williamsville NY 14221.
