Allegany—Eugenia E. “Jeanne” Schreiber 79, of 3850 Route 417, Allegany, passed Thursday away August 23, 2007 at the Olean General Hospital. Born October 23, 1927 in Wyandotte Michigan, she was the daughter of Edwin and Lottie Ragen Freiberg. On April 10, 1948 in Wyandotte, MI she married George J. Schreiber Jr, who survives. Mrs. Schreiber had been employed by the 4 Season Garden Center in Olean for several years and then by Dornow Pharmacy in Allegany. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Allegany. Surviving besides her husband is a daughter Susan Asis (Robert) Kalman of Flushing, NY, and a son George J. (Caroline) Schreiber III of Allegany; Seven grandchildren Emily Schreiber, George (Rachael) Schreiber IV, Luke (Jessica) Schreiber, Claire Schreiber, Matthew Asis, Aaron Asis and Daniel Asis; 2 great grandchildren George A. Schreiber and Faith Schreiber, 2 sisters Patricia Hedrick of Oscoda, Michigan and Ann (Joseph) Faulkner of Mt. Clemens, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. Private funeral arrangements, under the direction of Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road, Olean, are being made by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Johns Lutheran Church, Allegany, NY or to the Allegany Fire Department
