Obituary of Beverly M. Jones

BEVERLY "PAT" JONES HINSDALE - Beverly "Pat" Jones of the Olean Hinsdale Rd. died Sunday July 28, 2002 at the Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Belfast, NY on October 26, 1931 she was a daughter of Leighman T. and Anna I. Evans Young. On February 20, 1954 in Portville she married George H. Jones who survives. Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Belfast High School. She had been employed at Acme electric for nearly 20 years prior to retiring in 1984. She and her husband owned and operated Hillview Propane from 1984 until 1992. Pat was employed as a cook for many years at the Hut Restaurant in Hinsdale and served as the deputy town clerk of Hinsdale. She was a life member and past president of the Hinsdale Fire Department Auxiliary, a member of the Hinsdale Guys and Gals Club, volunteered for the Hinsdale-Ischua food pantry and was a former member of the Caneadea United Methodist Church. Pat loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter Candace (William) Gaylor of Hinsdale; sisters Irma (Kenneth) Baldwin of Olean, Margaret (Robert) Ransom of Bradford, PA and Helen (Frank) Young of Caneadea, NY; grandchildren David Gaylor, Angela (Robert) Franz, Marc Gaylor all of Hinsdale and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers Robert and Alan Young and a sister Nancy Moses. Friends will be received Tuesday July 30, 2002 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean from 7-9 PM and on Wednesday July 31 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at which time funeral and committal services will be conducted. Rev. Dr. Carl Schultz, pastor of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Hinsdale Cemetery, Maplehurst, NY. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
