Wm Earle “Red” Bright
Olean, NY—Wm Earle “Red” Bright of 302 Coleman St., a resident of The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Olean for the past nine years died Tuesday (November 20, 2007) in the Olean General Hospital.
Born September 20, 1933 in Roanoke Rapids, NC, he was the son of William and Mary Jones Bright. On September 17, 1960 in Olean he married Gloria C. Witter who survives.
Mr. Bright was a veteran of the US Air Force having served during the Korean War. He worked for Potter Lumber Co. in Allegany until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Allegany Free Methodist Church and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Association.
Surviving besides his wife are 3 sons John (Julie) Bright, Jack (Karla) Bright and Robert (Annette) Bright, all of Olean; 2 daughters Mary Ellen (William) Fox of Olean and Lori (Russell) Carlson of Mt. Olive, NC; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 1 brother Nathaniel (Dorothy) Bright of Center Hill, FL and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 2 grandsons.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Olean on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday (November 24, 2007) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Andrew Haskins, pastor of the Free Methodist Church of Allegany, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Friends of Cattaraugus County Nursing Homes, Inc. 2245 W. State St. Olean, NY 14760.
