Obituary of Margaret A. Myers

“Wonderful Grandmother” Hinsdale—Margaret A. Myers of the Underwood Manor, formerly of 132 N. Union Street Olean, passed away Monday (December 31, 2007) at the Olean General Hospital. Born August 13, 1947 in Buffalo NY, she was the daughter of Joseph and Myrtle Kester Mahiques. On May 19, 1983 in Olean she married James Myers, who predeceased her in March of 1994. Mrs. Myers was a graduate of Holland Central School in 1965. She had resided in Holland and Chaffee, prior to moving to Olean in 1980. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed knitting and giving others manicures. Mrs. Myers had attended Guideposts in Olean and was a member of the Back Door Club. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church and the Calvary Baptist Church in Olean. Surviving are 2 sons Edward Larimer of Cuba, Paul (Kathy) Larimer of Camp Hill, Pa; a daughter Lisa Westfall of Freedom, NY; 3 brothers Raymond (Jeanette) Mahiques of Machias, Earl Mahiques of Holland, Larry (Sue) Mahiques of Freedom, NY; a sister Bonnie Mahiques of Java, NY; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road on Thursday January 3, 2008 from 10am -12pm at which time funeral services will begin. Burial will be in Black Creek Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Cattaraugus County Community Services Department Guidepost Continuing Day Treatment Center 203 Laurens Street Olean, NY 14760 or to the Mental Health Association.
