JAMES R. "BRUSH" BRUSHINGHAM "Caring Husband and Father - Avid Race fan" OLEAN - James R. "Brush" Brushingham of North 19th Street died Tuesday August 6, 2002. Born in Olean on August 23, 1944 he was the son of Russell and Katherine Brenaman Brushingham. On May 1, 1965 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean he married Judith A. Erickson who survives. Mr. Brushingham was a third generation owner and operator of Brush's Auto Body. He took pride in painting cars. An avid race fan, Jim was a member of the American Motocross Association and the World Karting Association. He was an excellent motocross and go kart mechanic and enjoyed watching his sons race. A skilled craftsman, he enjoyed carpentry. Jim enjoyed NASCAR, especially watching his hero, Dale Earnhardt. He loved his dogs and was a member of the English Setters Association. He enjoyed traveling and camping. In addition to his wife Judy he is survived by sons Shawn (Stacy) Brushingham of Olean, Aaron (Nikol) Brushingham of Syracuse and three grandchildren Lauren, Bailey and Emma Brushingham. Friends will be received today (Thursday August 8, 2002) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean where funeral services will be conducted on Friday (August 9, 2002) at 1:00 PM. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church will officiate. Burial and committal services will follow at Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
