Carmel L. Valentine
Olean – Carmel L. Valentine of 903 Osgood Avenue died Tuesday January 31, 2006 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Erie, PA on May 25, 1941 she was a daughter of Samuel and Helen Marchiando Valentine. Carmel was active with the self-advocacy group at the !ReHabilitation Center. She took great pride in her appearance and enjoyed social activities, especially dining out. She loved music, particularly 50's, 60's and 70's music.
She is survived by a sister Kathy (Carl) Jay of Amherst, NY; several cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.
Friends will be received on Friday February 3, 2006 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at which time funeral services will be conducted. Fr. Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church will officiate. Burial and committal services will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to the !ReHabilitation Center, 1439 Buffalo St., Olean, NY 14760 or to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240-9856
