Stella E. Wilson
Olean, NY—Stella E. Wilson of 716 Washington St. died Saturday (July 29, 2006) in The Waters of Salamanca.
Born May 6, 1914 in Salamanca, NY she was the daughter of Michael and Mary N. Hapak Mayarczyk. On May 25, 1940 in Salamanca, NY she married James W. Wilson who predeceased her December 20, 1981.
Mrs. Wilson had been a resident of Olean most of her life and was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Lady’s of Charity, the Olean Senior Citizens Center and the American Legion Auxiliary of Hinsdale.
Surviving are 2 sisters Constance (Edmund) Jachacz of Panorama City, CA and Valerie Smith of Olean and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (August 1, 2006) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
