Paul V. Martiny Allegany, NY—Paul V. Martiny, formerly of 86 Harriet St. died Monday (August 6, 2006) in The Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center, Olean. Born September 23, 1919 in Allegany, NY he was the son of Henry R. and Frances Gerringer Martiny. In June 1946 he married Helen Perry who predeceased him in 1976. Mr. Martiny was a lifelong resident of Allegany and had been employed in the maintenance department at Allegany High School for many years prior to his retirement in 1984. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church where he had been a daily communicant for many years. He was also a member of the Allegany Knights of Columbus for many years and he faithfully took communion to the homebound and sick. His favorite hobbies included photography and home gardening. Surviving are 2 sisters Mary Spencer and Grace Hanley, both of Endicott and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by 6 brothers Clemens Martiny, Howard Martiny, Lawrence Martiny, George Martiny, Eugene Martiny and John Henry Martiny and 1 sister Helen Rehler. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday (August 10, 2006) beginning with a prayer service at 10:30am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Richard Husted, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Bonaventure Church or the The Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center 2245 W. State St. Olean, NY 14760.
