Obituary of Deborah Metzger Walsh Campbell

Deborah Metzler Walsh Campbell “avid golfer” Allegany, NY—Deborah Metzler Walsh Campbell of 109 Clarence St. died Friday (September 29, 2006) in The Waters of Allegany after a long illness. Born October 1, 1951 in Salamanca, NY she was the daughter of Malcolm G. and Edna Mae Myers, Sr. Six days ago, on September 23, 2006, in Olean, she married Kenneth H. Campbell. Mrs. Campbell was raised in Salamanca and graduated from Walsh High School in 1969. She then attended the University of Pittsburgh at both the Bradford and Pittsburgh campus's, graduating in 1973 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. She moved to Olean in 1974 and then to Allegany in 1986. She had been employed as a marketing specialist for the former Hysol Co., now Henkel Technologies for 33 years. She was an avid golfer and belonged to the Birch Run Country Club where she formerly played in the Birch Run Ladies Tuesday Night League. She was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #616 Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Allegany American Legion Auxiliary. She loved all animals, was a NASCAR fan and Buffalo Bills fan, and she loved to travel. Surviving besides her husband are her father of Salamanca; 2 sisters Marcia (Robert) Gordon of Salamanca and Kathi (Jeff) Sarver of Salamanca; 1 brother Malcolm G. Metzler, Jr. of Salamanca and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her mother in 2002. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 4-8pm only. Funeral services will be held Monday (October 2, 2006) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Fr. Richard C. Flaherty, OFM, of St. Bonaventure Parish, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
