Alice M. Ruggles
“Beloved mother and grandmother”
Olean, NY—Alice M. Ruggles of 317 Genesee St. passed away peacefully Monday (November 13, 2006) in her home.
Born October 1, 1921 in Hinsdale, NY she was the daughter of Albert L. and Susie M. Reynolds Mayer. On February 17, 1946 in Wilmington, DE she married Richard A. Ruggles who predeceased her January 17, 2000.
Mrs. Ruggles attended school in Olean and had resided in Olean most of her life. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Olean and also the Portville Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and knitting.
Surviving are 1 son Richard L. Ruggles of Cuba; 1 daughter Cheryl A. (James) Zeigler of Olean; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Obi Community Church on Saturday (November 18, 2006) from 4-6pm at which time funeral services will be held. Rev. David Wood, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. The Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean is in charge of arrangements.
