Nancy A. Davis “Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother” Allegany, NY—Nancy A. Davis of 5193 S. Nine Mile Rd. died Friday (December 1, 2006) in the Olean General Hospital after a short illness. Born September 10, 1918 in Vandalia, NY she was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Quattrone. On November 27, 1937 she married John R. Davis who predeceased her March 26, 1990. Mrs. Davis was a lifelong resident of Allegany and graduated from Limestone High School. She had been employed by the former Big N Store in Allegany and the Sample Store in Olean. She enjoyed playing bingo, but her best love in life was her family whom she was extremely devoted to. She’ll be remembered as a loving mother and awesome cook. Surviving are 4 sons Robert (Mary) Davis of Allegany, Thomas (Penny) Davis of Allegany, Gary (Jan) Davis of Bradford, PA and John Davis of Allegany; 1 daughter Carol Clark of Allegany; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 sister Margaret Rogers of Allegany and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a daughter Marilyn Birmingham in 1989; 3 brothers Bruno Quattrone, Peter Quattrone and James Quattrone and 1 sister Antoinette Ryan. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 5-8pm. Private funeral services will be held Monday (December 4, 2006) at the funeral home. Fr. Richard C Flaherty, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Allegany Fire Department.
