Olean, NY—Hitomi !VanCuren, formerly of E. Spring St. and of St. Joseph’s Manor died Friday (December 1, 2006) at The Waters of Salamanca Health Care Center.
Born March 15, 1930 in Japan, she had resided in Olean for many years and was employed as a tailor at the former Steinhart’s Liberty Co. in Olean.
Surviving are a son Paul !VanCuren of Salamanca and several brothers and sisters who reside in Japan.
Arrangements are being made for her cremation and return of her ashes for burial in Japan. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Rd. Olean, NY 14760.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean
