Obituary of Clarence F. Cook

Clarence F. Cook Olean, NY—Clarence F. Cook of 623 Garden Ave. died Wednesday (December 27, 2006) in the Olean General Hospital after a long illness. Born April 7, 1923 in Allegany, NY he was the son of Fred and Margaret Hitchcock Cook. He was married to Martha Herzog who predeceased him in 1990. Mr. Cook was a resident of Olean most of his life and had lived in Buffalo for fifteen years. He had been employed for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad in Olean and Wellsville prior to his retirement. He was a former member of the Olean Moose Club and he enjoyed coin collecting and playing bingo. Surviving are a son Robert (Wendy) Cook of Allegany; 4 grandchildren John Magee, Thomas Magee, Kevin Cook and Jessie Cook; 1 sister Ruth Milks of Perry, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a sister Shirley Taylor. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State St. Olean on Saturday (December 30, 2006) from 3-6pm. Funeral services will follow at 6pm. Rev. James Mitchell, pastor of the Five Mile Baptist Church in Allegany, will officiate. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, North Tonawanda, NY. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
