ESTHER M. YOUNG
OLEAN - Esther M. Young of Olean died Sunday September 1, 2002 at the Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Machias. Born in Persia, NY on December 13, 1929 she was the daughter of Howard A. and Clara A. Pitcher Skinner. She married Richard A. Rogers. She later married John E. Young who predeceased her March 17, 1978.
Mrs. Young was a cook at Sister Pat's for many years. She was a member of the Salvation Army and enjoyed cooking and recipes.
She is survived by seven children, Gary J. (Helen) Rogers of Hinsdale, Bonnie G. (David) Reed of Texas, Rex A. Rogers of Olean, Diana L. Brewer of Texas, Roy H. (Terry) Rogers of Allegany, Bruce E. (Linda) Young of Olean and Keith B. Young of Allegany; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
There will be no public visitations. A memorial service will be held on Friday September 6, 2002 at 11:00 AM at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean. Rev. Frank Hayman will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 310 East State St., Olean, NY 14760.
