DONALD A. WEATHERELL
HINSDALE - Donald A. Weatherell of the Olean-Hinsdale Highway died unexpectedly on Wednesday December 25, 2002 shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Olean on February 27, 1927 he was a son of Arthur and Lova Clawson Weatherell. On October 1, 1955 in Olean he married Dorothy D. Struble who survives.
Mr. Weatherell served on the USS Yorktown with the United States Navy during WWII. He was employed for over 50 years as a brick mason and worked through the Southern Tier Building Trades and the Brick Layers Union. Mr. Weatherell enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid gardener. He was a craftsman who enjoyed woodworking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Diane Weatherell of Cuba, Doreen (Michael) Jennings of Arvada, CO; two sons, David Weatherell of Rochester, NY and Donald (Jennifer) Weatherell of Hattiesburg, MS; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hartwig, Katherine Jennings, Owen Weatherell and Zachary Weatherell and on brother, Robert Weatherell of Salamanca.
Friends will be received on Friday December 27, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday (Dec. 28) at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hinsdale United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
