Obituary of Richard O. Dreier

Richard O. "Dick" Dreier "Loving husband, father and grandfather" Allegany – Richard O. "Dick" Dreier of Oak Street died Wednesday April 13, 2005 at his home. Born in East Otto, NY on August 11, 1926 he was the son of Erna and Mina Goodrich Dreier. On June 11, 1949 at St. Joseph's Church in Buffalo he married Grace E. Donahue who survives. Mr. Dreier served with the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He was employed with Dresser-Clark prior to his retirement in 1988. Mr. Dreier was an active member of St. Bonaventure Church. He enjoyed his home and enjoyed working outdoors and helping his neighbors. Dick was a family man and loved camping. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Michael (Susan) Dreier of Jacksonville, FL; daughters Linda (Rick Rogers) Dreier of Canandaigua, NY and Kathy (Tom) Martin of Allegany; nine grandchildren; one great grandson and several cousins. Friends will be received on Friday April 15, 2005 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday April 16, 2005 beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 12:30 PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bonaventure Church at 1:00 PM. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM, pastor will be celebrant. Committal services and burial will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department or to a charity of the donor's choice.
