Bill B. First Allegany, NY-- Bill B. First of 3974 Route 417 Lot 70 died today (Friday April 29, 2005) in his home. Born March 27, 1935 in Huntington, Indiana he was the son of Donald J. and Gladys Martin First. On September 15, 1957 at the former Church of the Brethren in Lancaster, Indiana he married !LanDona Broom who survives. Mr. First was a graduate of Union Center High School in Huntington and served several years for the Army National Guard of Indiana and as a reserve of the US Army until his discharge in 1961. He then worked for the US Postal Service in Arlington, VA, retiring due to disability in 1976. In 1979 he moved to Allegany and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Olean. Surviving besides his wife are 3 children Jeffrey First of Springhill, FL and Anne First and Steven First, both of Allegany; 5 grandchildren; 1 sister Lou Ann (James) Brand of Ruskin, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Donald First and John First and a sister Betty Vollmar. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State St. Olean on Sunday from 1 until 4pm. Funeral services will be held Monday (May 2, 2005) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Dan !McDowell, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or to the American Lung Association.
