Obituary of Alma B. Reynolds

Alma B. Reynolds "Resident of Cranberry Road" Allegany – Alma B. Reynolds, 100, formerly of Cranberry Rd. died Friday July 15, 2005. Born in Allegany on May 2, 1905 she was a daughter of Charles and Anna Schnell Blessing. On November 15, 1927 in Olean she married Hanford A. Reynolds who predeceased her November 5, 1973. Mrs. Reynolds was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1923. She was employed as a bookkeeper for many years at Bell Brothers, Hannifan's Shoe Store and Betty's Flower Shop prior to retiring. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Allegany where she was an organist for several years. She is survived by three nephews, Hanford "Hans" (Charlene) Sendlakowski of Allegany, Thomas (Donna) Sendlakowski of Fairfield, CA and William (Beryl) Blessing of Durham, NC; one niece Mary Lou (Ward) Mitchell of Horseheads, NY; several great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters C. Roderick Blessing, Walter Blessing, Ellen Blessing and Margaret Sendlakowski. Friends will be received on Monday July 18, 2005 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at which time funeral and committal services will be conducted. Rev. Gerard leFeber, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery, Allegany, NY. Memorials may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church, Allegany or to the Allegany Public Library.
