Russell A. Sharp Rochester - Russell A. Sharp, formerly of Fortune Drive, Allegany died Thursday August 4, 2005 in Rochester, NY at St. Mary's Unity Hospital, Genesee Campus. Born in Munderf, PA on March 3, 1915 he was a son of Chester A and Annie M. Wingard Sharp. On January 23, 1937 at the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Little Genesee he married Leola Pangburn who predeceased him in 1994. Mr. Sharp was employed for Pennzoil of Bradford for over 43 years retiring as foreman in 1971. Following retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and camping. He is survived by three daughters, Shirley (Edward) Hoak of Spencerport, NY, Beverly (Jack) Stoeckel of Allegany and Mary Logue of !McKenny, VA; a son, Nelson "Bob" (Sharon) Sharp of Telluride, CO, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter Janice Leahy and nine brothers and sisters. Friends will be received on Monday August 8, 2005 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon at which time funeral and committal services will be conducted. Rev. Frank Hayman, pastor of the Allegany Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Allegany Cemetery, Allegany, NY. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the American Cancer Society.
