"Devoted Mother"
Allegany, NY-- Evelyn A. Mohr of 4115 S. Nine Mile Rd., recently of Eden Heights, died Tuesday (August 30, 2005) in The Waters of Aurora Park in East Aurora, NY.
Born April 6, 1926 in Buffalo she was the daughter of James and Rose Trandle !LaVorgna. On July 3, 1948 at St. Francis !DeSales Church in Buffalo she married Albert Rauff who predeceased her May 18, 1985. On October 11, 1991 in Bowmansville, NY she married Donald V. Mohr who predeceased her April 1, 2004.
Mrs. Mohr had been a resident of the Buffalo area most of her life and moved to Allegany in 1992. She attended school at St. Francis !DeSales school in Buffalo where she also sang in its choir. She later worked in several department stores in Buffalo, most recently for JC Penny in Clarence, NY, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and was active in the Sixty Plus Club. During WWII she volunteered for the military effort by singing with the USO.
Surviving are 1 son Paul (Donna) Rauff of Elma; 2 grandchildren; 3 sisters Adaline Schifferle of Cheektowaga, Helen Jablonski of Pinellas Park, Florida and Dorothy (Clarence) Mohr of Allegany and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands she was predeceased by 1 sister Mary !LaVorgna and 6 brothers Gabriel !LaVorgna, Charles !LaVorgna, Vincent !LaVorgna, Alfred !LaVorgna, Lawrence !LaVorgna and Robert !LaVorgna.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm and Friday (September 2, 2005)from 9:30am until 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am in St. Bonaventure Church. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
