Kay E. Stevens “loving sister, aunt and special friend” Franklinville, NY-- Kay E. Stevens of 7453 Livingston Rd. died Wednesday (September 7, 2005) in the Olean General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 15, 1939 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Richard and Elaine Adams Stevens. Miss Stevens was a graduate of Olean High School and had resided in Olean most of her life until moving to Franklinville in 1980. She had been employed for 25 years for Motorola, Inc. in Elma, NY prior to her retirement in 1995. She was an avid camper, loved the outdoors and was a strong supporter of the SPCA. She loved animals, especially birds, and enjoyed the hobby of taking pictures and videos of nature and wildlife. She will be sadly missed by her family including 4 sisters Barbara Seeley of Little Genesee, Jacquelyn Stevens of Franklinville, Linda Stevens of Olean and Sally Gayton of Olean; a special friend of 35 years Nancy L. Dewyer of Franklinville and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father in 1992 and her mother In 1998. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Saturday (September 10, 2005) from 11:00am until 1:00pm at which time funeral and committal services will be held. Rev. Clint Pearsall, pastor of the Faith Bible Church in Little Genesee, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the SPCA 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Rd. Olean, NY 14760 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
