Obituary of Jerry T. Kent

Jerry T. Kent “loving brother and uncle” Olean, NY-- Jerry T. Kent of 120 N. 4th St. Olean died Wednesday (September 7, 2005) after a brief illness. Born July 27, 1950 in Olean, NY he was the son of Herman R. and Marie D. !McPeak Kent. Mr. Kent was a 1969 graduate of Olean High School and had resided in Olean all of his life. He was an employee of the former Agway plant in Olean, then for Dresser Clark Co. and lastly for St. Bonaventure University. He was a member of the Bethel AME Church and had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing. He was affectionately known as “Zingo” and “the Smooth Monkey” by his family and friends and was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Surviving besides his mother are 2 brothers Nathan Kent and Vincent (Nancy) Kent, both of Olean; 4 sisters Debra (Angel) Ferrer of Olean, Carmen (Kevin) Mosley of Binghamton, Sharon (Johnny) Hall of Olean and Wendy (Keith) Clemons of Olean and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 2003 and a brother Herman Kent, Jr. in 1983. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday (September 12, 2005) from (to be announced) at which time funeral services will be held. Rev. Stanley Parks, pastor of Mt. Zion Christian Assembly, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean. Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute PO Box 631 Buffalo, NY 14240, Mt. Zion Christian Assembly or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
