Obituary of Loren R. Krott

Loren R. Krott Allegany – Loren R. Krott of Route 16 South died Sunday October 16, 2005 shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Detroit, MI on November 1, 1925 he was a son of Loren C. and Bessie Ethridge Krott. On June 25, 1955 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany he married Catherine R. Messer who survives. Mr. Krott served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He was employed for 35 years at !McGraw Edison retiring as a department supervisor in July of 1987. He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church, Olean VFW post 1619, the Allegany American Legion and the National Rifle Association. He was a past member of Knapp Creek Fire Department. Mr. Krott loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed socializing at the American Legion and VFW. He also enjoyed gardening. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons Kevin L. (Linda) Krott of Waxahachie, TX and Thomas E. (Judy) Krott of Cuba, NY; four grandchildren; two sisters Phylis (Doug) Snyder of Olean and Donna (Vito) Basile of Salamanca; one brother Gerald (Ceil) Krott of Salisbury Center, NY; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Lois Shelc. Friends will be received on Tuesday October 18, 2005 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday (October 19) beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor will be celebrant. Committal prayers and military honors will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY. Memorials may be made to the Knapp Creek Fire Department or to St. Mary of the Angels Church.
