Obituary of Mary W. Kreydt

Mary W. Kreydt “loving wife, mother, grandmother” Olean, NY-- Mary W. Kreydt of 134 N. 8th St. died Saturday (December 31, 2005) in the Olean General Hospital after a short illness. Born July 3, 1914 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Michael J. and Alice !McManus O’Neil. On April 19, 1950 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean she married Robert V. Kreydt who survives. Mrs. Kreydt was a graduate of St. Mary’s Parochial School and of St. Elizabeth Academy. She also attended Westbrook Commercial Academy. She was a longtime office secretary for the former Thatcher Glass and then was a homemaker for many years. Later she worked as a secretary for Head Start in Olean prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and was active with the former group Bonatom. She was very active as a golfer, raising her children, cooking and needlework. Surviving besides her husband are 5 children Mary Cook of Syracuse, Ellen (Van) Gayton of Jacksonville, FL, Catherine Barto of Elmira, Margaret (Howard) Potter of Sewickley, PA and Neil (Diana) Kreydt of !DuBois, PA; 7 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; 3 sisters Ann O’Neil and Marguerite O’Neil, both of Olean and Josephine Curran of Rochester and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 sisters Catherine O’Neil, Helen Donivan and Theresa Kausner. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday (January 3, 2005) at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church.
