Obituary of Geraldine A. Mullett

Geraldine A. "Gerri" Mullett "loving mother, devoted to family and friends" Olean, NY-- Geraldine A. "Gerri" Mullett of 811 Washington St. died Saturday (January 3, 2004) in the Olean General Hospital. Born July 7, 1924 in Nansen, PA she was the daughter of Leo and Maude Stanton Paugh. She was married to Robert E. Rarey who died in 1956. She then married Elwin J. Austin who died in 1965. She later married Robert J. Mullett who predeceased her in 1992. Mrs. Mullett was a member of the Allegany First Free Methodist Church and was a former member of the Women of the Moose in Olean. She had formerly worked in Elmira, NY for Remington-Rand Co. prior to moving to Olean. Surviving are 3 daughters Geraldine Smith of St. Petersburg, FL, Winnie (Dusty) Dougherty of Olean and Dixie (James) Hirst of Spring, TX; 1 son William (Sandra) Rarey of Achilles, VA; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 1 sister Lillian Inman of Olean and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by 1 son Robert Rarey, Jr. November 30, 1981, 6 sisters and 7 brothers. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean today from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Tuesday (January 6, 2004) from 11:00am until 1:00pm at which time funeral services will be held. Rev. Andrew Haskins, pastor of the First Free Methodist Church in Allegany, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
