Mary E. Davidson
Hinsdale, NY Mary E. Davidson, 58, of 1111 Sherlock Hollow Rd., passed away Saturday (November 16, 2024) at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo.
Born February 25, 1966 in Bangor, Maine, she was the adopted daughter of John A. and Catherine Lowe McCannell. On October 1, 2005 in Calais, Maine, she married Dana K. Davidson who survives.
Mary was a graduate of Shead High School in Eastport, Maine and later of the University of Maine. She worked for a time as a children’s librarian in Calais. She and her husband moved to Montana where she was a licensed activity director for long term care in Glendive, and later moved to Lusk, Wyoming to continue the same occupation. After residing in Idaho for a brief period they moved to Hinsdale after having connected with her biological mother, Ruth Fitch of Olean, and their children.
She enjoyed many hobbies including crafts, hiking, geocaching, and listening to music. What was most special to her was spoiling her grandchildren.
She leaves behind her husband, Dana; her mother Ruth Fitch of Olean; 4 children, Amy (Jacob) Martin of Pocatello, Idaho, Katy (Nathan) Maughan of Malad City, Idaho, Jacob (Stephanie) Muir of Hinsdale, and Michael (Cassie) Muir of Helena, Montana; 3 stepsons, Chris (Christina) Davidson, Brian (Evie) Davidson, and Andrew (Katlyn) Davidson; 13 grandchildren; 5 siblings, Rose (Harry) Gayton, John Fitch, Annie (Ken) Langdon, all of Olean, Dan (Kelley) Fitch of Northglenn, CO, and Matthew (Amanda) Fitch of Jacksonville, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her adoptive parents, John and Catherine McCannell, her biological father, Jack Fitch, her stepfather, Harold Vaughn, and her sister Karen McCannell.
At Mary’s request, there will be no service at this time. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
