Barbara J. Bryant
Portville, NY Barbara J. Bryant, 73, of 63 Brooklyn St., joined her loving husband Tom in Heaven Wednesday (November 13, 2024).
Born February 16, 1951 in Olean, she was the daughter of Elwyn “Al” and Mary “Grace” Napoleon Ellison. On June 3, 1972 in Olean, she married Thomas R. “Bones” Bryant who predeceased her November 22, 2021.
Barbara was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1970. She began her working years at the former Dip N Donuts in Olean which was operated by her brother Dave Ellison. She then worked for many years in the bakery department of the former Quality Markets in Olean until her retirement in 2006.
She enjoyed doing crafts in her younger years. Along with her husband she enjoyed traveling and also spending time with friends at the Elks Club and American Legion, both in Olean and at their retirement home in Seminole, FL. In recent years she liked to go camping with her family. Most important to her were her grandchildren who were the center of her world.
The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the nurses at Olean General Hospital’s subacute rehab unit for the loving care shown to Barbara.
She leaves behind 2 daughters, Connie (Jeff) Heath of Cramerton, NC and Amy (Mike) Randolph of Portville; 5 grandchildren, Ryan (Jasmine) Heath, Joseph Heath, Zakary Linza, Hailey Randolph and Kayt Heath; 2 great grandsons, Mason Thomas Heath and Hudsyn Heath; 2 brothers, David (Larry) Ellison of Freeport, IL and Mike (Mary) Ellison of Olean; 1 sister Patti (Dave) Belleisle of Olean; 1 sister-in-law, Linda Spencer of Olean, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister-in-law Barb Barton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will be held Friday (November 22, 2024) at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Olean General Hospital, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
