Obituary of Maureen A. Finch

Maureen Ann Finch Allegany, NY Maureen Ann Finch of 4115 S. Nine Mile Rd., Lot 143, passed away unexpectedly Sunday (September 29, 2024) at the Olean General Hospital. Born December 10, 1946 in Olean, she was the daughter of Edward and Virginia Ryan Carney. On October 29, 1966 at St. Bonaventure Church, she married David J. Finch who passed away October 24, 2017. Maureen attended St. Bonaventure Parochial School and graduated from Allegany High School. She was first employed for NY Telephone as an operator. She and her husband lived in Florida for 5 years where she worked for the GTE phone company. Upon returning to Allegany, she was employed by Olean General Hospital in the billing and collections department for 25 years until her retirement. She cherished her family, and her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy. She loved working in her yard and flower gardens with her husband Dave, and continued maintaining them until her health did not permit her to do it anymore. For many continuous years Maureen thoroughly enjoyed her weekly appointment at Poks Salon to have her hair and nails done. She leaves behind a daughter Amy (Jeff) Louser of Allegany; a son David (Marni) Finch of Olean; 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Hannalee) Louser, Jenna (Cadyn) Louser, Ava Finch, Ariana Finch, and Grayson Finch; 1 great grandson, Tucker Louser and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Dave, she was predeceased recently by a daughter Kristen Finch on May 6, 2024, and a sister Nancy Hollamby on May 3, 2015. The family will be holding a private burial ceremony at their convenience in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Hart Comfort House, 141 E. State St., Wellsville, NY 14895, or to the Allegany Fire Department; Attn Memorials Committee, 188 W. Main St., Allegany, NY 14706.
