I was Molly's intern in Banjul over the summer of 2022. I'm very saddened about her passing. She took me under her wing and inspired me to pursue a career in the foreign service. I am truly fortunate to have met her, she was an inspiring leader, a calming presence, and a true friend - someone I aspire to be more like. Thanks for everything Molly.

Molly was taken from us far sooner than any healthy, active, person should be. I had the pleasure of working with her while she was in the Bureau of Energy Resources at the State Department. Her hard work ethic, sharp wit, and personality fit right in, even when she was remotely working from Banjul. We spent time together outside of work, visiting the National Zoo to see the pandas before they went back to China, attending a cooking class, and sharing dinners at wonderful restaurants. Our friendship was just blossoming and I miss her very much. There are so many times I pick up my phone to message her about something and then stop when I realize that can't happen anymore. She left a partially eaten bag of Skittles in her desk. So Molly.

I worked with Molly at the embassy in Bern, me at the Public Affairs section (PD). We worked together on the Greening Embassies Network of Bern. Molly was furthermore so much involved in Public Affairs activities, that we called her our adopted PA member. Everyone in our team loved working with her. I found her an incredible funny person, with a nice dry sense of humor. I wish I had visited her in the Gambia, as I had said I would.
It is really sad that someone so young, already passed away, but I am sure that she made the very most out of her life, and that she had great time!

Because of Molly I found myself falling in love with Switzerland all over again. Her love for this country, especially Bern, my home town, her joy in exploring its beauty, made me appreciate it and see it through a fresh set of eyes. Molly’s eyes. Every week, we ran along the Aare in Bern, talking about everything that mattered—books, the environment, what we were cooking or baking that week. No dog passed by unnoticed; her heart was open.
It feels like yesterday that we were celebrating her 30th birthday with lemon cake, laughing and dreaming about the future. I feel shortchanged by fate, as I was looking forward to a lifetime of friendship with Molly. Her absence leaves a deep void, and I miss her more than words can say.
Hey Molly. Few things I wanted to tell you - I found some new pretzel chocolate you’d like. Also, I didn’t bring my running gear on my holiday last week, it was too hot. And I will try to make that Watermelon whisper again. It was a good day for a BBQ today. And, will give “The Thorn Birds” another go. Hope to see you on the other side. I miss you my friend, big time.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Molly at the State Department over the last couple of years. She was as unflappable in her solid work ethic as she was in her humor. We spent many a virtual work meeting exchanging banter behind the scenes to keep the day light. All the while, she managed one impressive accomplishment after another since she joined our team here. It's just not fair to have to say goodbye, and I will miss her dearly. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones.

I am so sorry to hear of Molly's passing. Not only did I have the privilege of seeing her grow up in my neighborhood, we shared a love of dance. And I got to share a stage with her numerous times which I treasure. Imagine my happiness to hear she was also my niece Jane's best friend. Ed and Elaine, my most heartfelt condolences. I am keeping you and your son Ed, in my thoughts and prayers.

I knew Molly from our time in Bern together. We had so much fun doing Swiss things like swimming in the river, rafting and skiing (and WEF), but what I loved the most was talking about what we were reading. I love how passionate she could be about a book. It was infectious. I don’t think I would’ve liked swamplandia half so much without her enthusiasm. This is a heartbreaking loss. I’ll always miss her.

I met Molly in The Gambia and found her sense of humor to be essential to surviving there. It was easy to laugh with her, and we quickly became friends. It’s been delightful to spend time with her back in DC. We loved laughing about The Gambia, talking DC theater, and life in general. I’m incredibly saddened by her passing. I’ll miss her quips, energy, and beautiful red hair.
