Obituary of Kelsey L. Shea

Kelsey Lynne Shea, 20, passed away Tuesday (July 16, 2024) with her family by her side at ECMC in Buffalo after a courageous battle with cancer. Kelsey was a 2022 graduate of Allegany-Limestone Central School and then received her associate degree in media arts with high honors this past May from Jamestown Community College (Jamestown Campus). She was the recipient of the Aaron Perez Media Arts Award for her dedication, creativity and perseverance in the Media Arts. Kelsey flourished at JCC in Jamestown. While attending school, she worked at the Olive Garden and contributed to the Archive of 10,000 Maniacs. Kelsey loved music, softball, swimming, the outdoors, and photography. She was able to capture emotions through a picture.  She enjoyed being able to listen to Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, and The Grateful Dead. Kelsey was often seen attending concerts and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. Her favorite time was the annual family vacation to the 1,000 Islands with all of the Ryan clan. Kelsey will be remembered for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and beautiful smile. Kelsey was an old soul and an inspiration to many people. During her time of being sick, she shared her story through her TikTok (kelsokickscancer) and encouraged others to keep fighting. She has touched countless lives. She is survived by her parents Kellie (Pete Gilroy) Shea and Shawn Shea; her sisters Kaelyn (Joseph) Arnold of Allegany and Karlie Shea of Allegany; a niece Paisley Mae-Lynn and she was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her nephew in a few short weeks; her grandparents Beverly (Robert) Ryan of Allegany and Patrick (Kathleen) Shea of Florida; her aunts and uncles Kevin (Jessica) Klice, Craig (Rachelle) Ryan, Bethany Ryan, Jeff (Patty) Smith, Dana (Kraig) Shea-Knoth Cousins, Logan, Griffin and Chessa Klice, Taylor and Madison Smith and Emily Buck ; many aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her brother Ethan Shea and paternal grandparents Bobbie Snow, Dennis (Kathy) Kirby and many others who have passed before her. Friends will be received today (July 18, 2024) from 4-7 at the Casey, Halwig, and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean. A funeral service will be held Friday (July 19, 2024) at 10 am at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany.
